About Formynex
Formynex is a collection of practical PDF and image tools designed to make common document tasks faster and simpler. Many tools are built to run directly in the browser, so files do not need to leave your device when local processing is technically possible.
Why Formynex exists
Most PDF work is small and occasional. You need to combine four scanned pages, drop a page you photographed twice, shrink a file so it fits an upload limit, or turn a handful of photos into one document. None of that should require installing desktop software, creating an account, or handing every file to a remote server by default.
Formynex exists to make those everyday jobs — merging, splitting, compressing, converting formats, editing and organising pages, and working with images — quick to reach and quick to finish. It is an independently developed web project rather than a company, and it is built and maintained by one developer.
Privacy-first by design
Whenever a tool can be processed locally, Formynex is designed to keep that work in your browser. The file is read from disk by the page itself, transformed in memory, and written back out as a download. Nothing is transmitted, and nothing is stored.
All 18 tools that are live today work this way. You can check it yourself: open a tool, disconnect from the network, and it will still convert your file.
That is deliberately not a blanket promise about everything. 16 tools in the catalogue depend on engines that cannot run in a browser — things like Office-format conversion, optical character recognition, and archival PDF/A validation. Those are not connected yet, and if a feature ever requires server-side processing, the interface will say so before you add a file. Processing behaviour can vary by tool, so the label on each tool page is the thing to check.

How Formynex is different
There are several well-established document platforms, and they are capable products. Formynex focuses heavily on browser-side processing where practical, a lightweight interface, and straightforward access to common document utilities.
The other difference is in how unfinished work is presented. Tools that are not built yet are listed with what they will need and are not given controls that look functional but do nothing. A page that says a tool is unavailable is more useful than a button that quietly fails.
No unnecessary accounts
Every live tool works without registering. There is no sign-up, no email prompt, no usage counter and no history kept between visits. The only thing stored in your browser is a short list of which tools you opened recently, so the homepage can show them again — never file names or file contents.
